I’ve been an on-looker in the blog community for the past couple of weeks and the truth is that I haven’t been motivated to post anything, or maybe it’s just that I have been feeling like I don’t have a lot to talk about online… While on the subject though, to all my friends and family, sorry for being lame at answering emails, phone calls, and leaving comments on blogs, etc.. I’m guilty as charged.

What hasn’t changed is that I’m still “trying” to eat healthy and it’s not working.
Yesterday was the first time in what feels like a really long time that Farah and I even left the apartment. So much has been going on since moving here; trying to get things situated and balance time between work and all that needs to be done at home is, I guess, what has made us into such homebodies. So what did we do? We walked down the street and back!

The most beautiful part of the day is Farah.

Farah and the sunset.

Here’s to a happy week of change. Something new is on the horizon. I can feel it.

Wife is beautiful.

There have been some fun moments in the last couple of weeks. For whatever reason, it seems like we have been a lot more social lately. Maybe it’s the weather.

I’ve seen a lot more of Dan as well.

Dan is cool.

And so is this guy but he makes drinks that do this to people.

When he is not bartending he is a master swordsman.
Sensei, is this the way to hold a sword?

Bikers.

Playing around with my new flash.

Old trick, new face. Crappy photo!
Working with artificial light will take some getting used to…

Lastly, this is what I look like under the instruction of Billy Blanks–working hard to change some bad habits I’ve developed over the past two or three years. In the end it’s not Farah’s amazing cooking skills and all of the boba tea and watered-down beer that I drink, it all comes down to poor choices! I know what I have to do… And I’ll say it while you think it: “Damn! You got fat!!” ;)

It’s been a long couple of weeks but there are still plenty of reasons to smile because…

Life is beautiful.

And so is my wife! This week is our first wedding anniversary!!! It’s amazing how fast time has gone by. I only hope that the second year is as good as the first.
(this pic was taken exactly one year ago on our way home from filing loads of paperwork at the US Embassy in Tokyo paving the way for us to be able to get married in Japan)

We are surrounded by good people.

And good brothers. Ryan and I have spent a lot of time together lately due to family circumstances and it’s been really good to connect.

And there is always hope for the future. We are so looking forward to meeting you, Thomas.

Today is my camera’s birthday. I bought it exactly one year ago today and in that year I have somehow managed to take 15, 845 photos, which amounts to an average of 43.4 shots per day! So happy birthday, my camera! It’s been a fun year in which a lot has happened, most of which I have been careful to document in photos. I look forward to learning more about how to be a better photographer in the years to come, so here’s to a second great year of love & adventure, and taking photos!
